ROOFING MATERIALS · BRAZOS VALLEY

Choose the Right Material for Your Roof

We install asphalt shingles, metal roofing, and tile in College Station, Bryan, and the Brazos Valley. The right material depends on your budget, how long you plan to stay in the home, and what your roof has to handle.

Materials We Install

Each material handles Texas heat, wind, and hail differently. Here’s an honest read on what we install and when each one is the right call.

Asphalt Shingles

The most common roofing material in Texas. Cost-effective, broad color options, 25–50 year manufacturer warranties. Three quality tiers from basic 3-tab to designer-grade architectural shingles.

Metal Roofing

Standing seam, screw-down, and stone-coated steel. Lasts 40–70 years, reflects heat, holds up to hail. Higher up-front cost, lower lifetime cost.

Tile Roofing

Clay, concrete, and synthetic options. Best for homes with the right architecture and structural capacity. 50–100 year material life, premium price point.

How to Choose the Right Material

Picking a roof material is really four questions:

  • How long will you stay in the home? If you plan to be there 20+ years, the higher up-front cost of metal or tile pays back. For 5–10 year horizons, asphalt is the math winner.
  • What does your insurance reward? Many Texas carriers offer impact-resistant discounts on metal and Class 4 asphalt. Worth asking your agent before you decide.
  • What does your home’s architecture call for? A 1950s ranch in Bryan looks right in architectural asphalt. A Spanish revival in Brenham might need clay tile to look right.
  • What’s your budget — up-front and lifetime? Asphalt is lowest up-front. Metal pays off over 40+ years. Tile is the premium tier on both counts.

On your free estimate, we walk you through which material makes the most sense for your specific home, budget, and timeline. No upsell to the highest-tier material when the basic option is the right call.
